I had mentioned this bit of news to my piece, Grieving the Pale Dot, but I felt it deserved its own post so there is no surprise when you see more posts from me in the interim.
I wanted to share the news that Anton (Crow) will be taking a mini-break from the Nevermore Substack, and he has tasked me (Rozali) to run this Substack in the interim. Crow is going to be working in Canada for a few months, so he will be extra busy and won’t have much free time. That being said, I expect him to occasionally write some pieces (I’m not sure it is possible for him to ever stop writing completely).
Moving forward I will be posting work from our Nevermore contributors and other talented writers. I will also be providing my own commentary on a number of issues, though I should note that my writing style differs from Crow — for better or worse. Crow has a gift for making sense of the world through his writing. He’s prescient, authentic, intelligent, and a deeply critical thinker (and yes, sometimes antagonistic). He has consistently provided thought-provoking content, and I hope to do the same, in my own way. If it’s a change of pace that you aren’t used to / don’t like, do let me know.
Feel free to leave feedback, constructive criticism, etc. in the comments below. I love reading comments and I’d love to hear what can be improved or what you’d like to see.
Stayed tuned for essays about: Paid Propagandists & the Need for Media Literacy; a Criticism Against the ‘Ethical Consumption’ Argument; and more.
For the wild,
Rozali
