OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM: THE SEQUEL
ALSO, ARE IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS PLANNING TO LAUNCH ATTACKS ON ISRAEL FROM JORDAN?
Well folks, we all knew this day would come.
It looks like the sequel to Operation Iraqi Freedom has begun.
(While this attack has been confirmed, I have been unable to determine whether any U.S. troops were killed. Read on for full story.)
For those of you who don’t remember Episode 1 of Operation Iraqi Freedom, let me refresh your memory.
After Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein announced plans to begin selling oil in euros, the U.S. decided that it had better liberate the Iraqi people from the tyrant that they had previously propped up to wage a proxy war against Iran.
The Pentagon dubbed its invasion of Iraq “Operation Iraqi Freedom”. Back then, freedom was super-popular. The U.S. invaded the Gulf Nation, killed Saddam, installed a puppet government, and got back to back to business selling oil in dollars.
Freedom-lovers everywhere rejoiced.
Twenty years later, Iraq is a productive oil-exporting nation, and is rarely mentioned in the Western media.
Americans troops were mostly withdrawn years ago, although some 2500 troops still remain, down from almost 170 000 at the height of the war.
The U.S. seems quite confident that Iraq has been pacified. However, there are still numerous armed insurgent groups in Iraq.
ARE IRAN-BACKED IRAQI MILITIAS PLANNING TO LAUNCH MAJOR ATTACKS ON U.S. MILITARY BASES?
Given the fact that there are a mere 2500 American troops still in Iraq, and given the broader political situation, it seems to me probable that we can expect a resurgence of the Iraqi insurgency against the U.S. occupation.
Indeed, attacks have already begun.
An article published today explains:
There have been at least five drone and rocket attacks on three different Iraqi bases since Wednesday.
The incidents were mostly claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iranian-backed militias. Following two attacks on Thursday, it announced more operations against "the American occupation."
Due to the increased security threat, the U. S. authorities ordered the evacuation of "the non-emergency U.S. government personnel and eligible family members."
THESE ATTACKS CAME AFTER INSURGENTS ORDERED THE U.S. MILITARY TO IMMEDIATELY LEAVE IRAQ
These reports come hot on the heels of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq ordering the U.S. military to immediately leave the country.
A group of Iranian-backed militias in Iraq say US forces “must leave immediately” or their bases in Iraq and elsewhere in the region will continue to come under attack.
Militant groups have launched rocket and drone attacks in recent days against US bases in Iraq and Syria, most of which were claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq. The group has said the attacks are retaliation for Washington’s support of Israel and a warning not to intervene in the Israel-Hamas war.
“These are only warning messages to them, and serious work has not yet begun,” the militias say in a statement.
The statement concludes by saying that if Israel launches a ground invasion into Gaza, “watch the border with Jordan carefully.” It doesn’t elaborate.
ARE IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS PLANNING TO LAUNCH ATTACKS ON ISRAEL FROM JORDAN?
It should be kept in mind that in wartime, all news should be treated as propaganda and read with extreme skepticism.
We would do well to remember that ISIS, for instance, had a long track record of making dubious claims, such as taking responsibility for attacks they clearly did not carry out.
Although multiple sources confirm the attacks on U.S. bases, I am unable to confirm reports that 3 U.S. servicemen died in those attacks.
That report, which was posted by the Iran Observer Telegram channel and reposted by Geopolitics & Empire, remains UNCONFIRMED.
According to the Associated Press:
Two drones targeted the al Asad airbase in western Iraq used by U.S. forces and one drone targeted a base in northern Iraq, a U.S. official told The Associated Press.
U.S. forces intercepted all three, destroying two but only damaging the third, which led to minor injuries among coalition forces at the western base, according to a statement Wednesday by U.S. Central Command.
The U.S. official were not authorized to speak publicly on the attacks and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Time will tell whether the cryptic statement issued by the group calling itself Islamic Resistance in Iraq is credible.
For all I know, the group itself could be a fabrication. Perhaps Iran is claiming responsibility for the actions of Iraqi militants it does not control.
Nevertheless, the fact that the attacks on U.S. bases came after the statement was issued does lend it some credibility. Could it be true that Iranian-backed militias are active in Jordan?
Out of all the Arab countries, Israel has the friendliest relationship with Jordan, which would make an attack from Jordan surprising.
Surprising, yes. Inconceivable? No.
ARE IRAN AND ITS ALLIES PLANNING TO ATTACK ISRAEL FROM ALL SIDES?
Iranian TV is claiming that its proxies are planning to attack Israel from all sides.
It claims that the Houthi government of Yemen has missiles with a range of 2000 kilometers, that Iraqi militias are already entrenched near the Golan Heights, and that Hezbollah is equipped to strike Tel Aviv and U.S. war ships.
Given the surprising sophistication of Hamas’s attack on Israel, we should not underestimate the capacities of Iran and its allies.
It bears mentioning that Iran is far from alone in its fight against Israel.
Iran’s military is very much integrated with that of Syria’s, and both countries support Hezbollah.
Presumably, a war between Israel and Hezbollah would quickly devolve into a war between Israel and all of its neighbours.
Middle Eastern geopolitics are notoriously complicated, and there are many rivalries between regional powers. For now, the Muslim world is presenting a united front, but that could change as time goes on.
Indeed, I would be surprised if fissures do not become visible relatively soon.
I do think that different players will take advantage of the situation to settle their own scores. One terrain to watch is Iraq.
It seems to me likely that Iraqi insurgents will attempt to drive out the 2500 US troops still stationed in Iraq.
Why? Because now might be their best chance. Why wouldn’t they seize the moment?
One thing is certain: this war is shaping up to be long, ugly, and brutal.
I can understand Iraq jumping into the fray. Their central bank (CBI) servers are in Houston, TX. Their "thriving oil production" is sold in US dollars and the revenues put back through the CBI (in Houston). Their bills are paid from that, and reparations for having the gall to be destroyed by US troops, (with Halliburton being the biggest rebuild contractor) and the rest is given back to them in the form of an allowance for their population and infrastructure to subsist on. All because 20 years ago (!!) Hussein had the nerve to resist the globalists and tend to his own country.
It would be no wonder if they decided to take advantage of the distraction to exact a little revenge. Hell, I'd do the same thing.
First up, I cannot find the site where I found the server in Houston. I remember it was listed in the webmaster details of the CBI site but, like I said, it was 10 years ago. But otherwise, here we go:
Iraq was free: https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/sociopol_globalbanking458.htm ; https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica2/esp_sociopol_rothschild59.htm
Then it was invaded under pretense and US contractors (big one Halliburton) moved in to "rebuild": https://search.brave.com/search?q=halliburton+iraq+war+profits&source=web
Of course somebody had to pay for this rebuilding and who better than the people who need to be rebuilt? In comes the UN and US to save the day! Through BIS and IMF, they took over Iraq affairs and handled their money like a parent does a child. https://cbi.iq/page/39 ; https://govinfo.library.unt.edu/cpa-iraq/regulations/index.htm ; http://unscr.com/en/resolutions/1483 ; https://govinfo.library.unt.edu/cpa-iraq/regulations/20040604_CPAORD_95_Financial_Management_Law_and_Public_Debt_Law_with_Annex_A_and_B.pdf (see item #30 under definitions) ; https://govinfo.library.unt.edu/cpa-iraq/budget/DFI_intro1.html ; http://www.iamb.info/
And here we are 20 years later and the MSM puts it out where it can be seen: "Since the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Iraq’s foreign currency reserves have been housed at the United States’ Federal Reserve, giving the Americans significant control over Iraq’s supply of dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq requests dollars from the Fed and then sells them to commercial banks and exchange houses at the official exchange rate through a mechanism known as the “dollar auction.” " https://apnews.com/article/united-states-government-iraq-business-0628bad5e4d46315951c90681baba202
Of course, they're saying Iraq is laundering it through to their neighbours but considering most of them have been on the receiving end of hell as well, why wouldn't they? Reading between the lines of that article, and through the lessons of The Economic Hitman, the propaganda bullshit is clearly seen. Harking back to the list of countries without a Rothschild owned central bank, I am also reminded of "... the paper from the Office of the Secretary of Defense [then Donald Rumsfeld] outlining the strategy. We're going to take out seven countries in five years.' And he named them, starting with Iraq and Syria and ending with Iran." "...the hit list included Lebanon, Libya, Somalia and Sudan."
Syria has been holding fast although God only knows how she's doing it after what she's been through. And Iran has been able to duck and dive with its nuke threats. The rest of the list are toast. Intentionally.
