Stabbed in the Heart
A true story of psychosis & rumours of human sacrifice in the heart of Canada´s capital city.
Dear Paid Subscribers,
Thank you very much for subscribing to Nevermore! I very much appreciate your support!
Over the next little while, I will be experimenting with different things, trying to reward those of you who are supporting me financially instead of being pissed off at the people who aren´t.
As I´ve before to someone who really ought to listen to me more:
You can´t buy loyalty, but you can incentivize it.
So I´m planning to take my own advice, and hopefully I will deliver enough of the goods that you keep supporting me financially.
I should state up front that I am not a people pleaser, so I ask you all to bear with me and, really, to help guide me towards some kind of understanding of what it is that you would like me to do in order to engage with you in a meaningful way.
The first thing that I´m going to try is posting original material of various types, which I have never published before for various reasons.
I have lots of unpublished material, some of which I think is good. That said, I´ve noticed that my readers often give a lukewarm reception to what I think is my best work, but enthusiastically embrace writing I cherish less. So I´m hoping that this list for paid subscribers, which is quite small as of yet, can help me learn to understand the minds of my readers more, so that I can tailor content to your tastes.
We´ll see if this works. Maybe it won´t.
Really, what I would prefer to do for money is to offer counselling to people with schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder, so if anyone has any crazy family members and think that I might be able to help them, please feel free to reach out.
Okay, I´ll leave it there for now. What I´ve got for you today is a fucked-up true story I wrote almost 10 years ago, about my friend´s psychosis.
Thank you very much for your continued support,
Crow Qu´appelle

TRIGGER WARNING - psychosis, attempted suicide, violence, police, human sacrifice
I had been out all night with Silea, my French lover who was soon to depart for the West Coast. We did not know when we would see one another again, even if we would see each other again. It had been a night of high romance, and in recollection everything seems washed in the opalescent caress of the moonlight, and her eyes smiled brighter than the brightest hue of the moon, and the night was lost in heavy kisses and the adamant professions of remembrance the occasion called for…
