THE RISE OF JEWISH FASCISM (WORLD WAR ROUND-UP 8)
What's an anti-racist to do now that Netanyahu is openly calling for genocide?
Genocide lies at the core of Western imperialism. It is not unique to Israel. It is not unique to the Nazis. It is the building block of Western domination. […]
Maybe we are fooled by our own lies, but most of the world sees us, and Israel, clearly. They understand our genocidal proclivities, rank hypocrisy and self-righteousness. They see that Palestinians, largely friendless, without power, forced to live in squalid refugee camps or the diaspora, denied their homeland and eternally persecuted, suffer the kind of fate once reserved for Jews.
This perhaps is the final tragic irony. Those who were once in need of protection from genocide now commit it.
-Chris Hedges, Exterminate All The Brutes, October 28, 2023
THE RISE OF JEWISH FASCISM
On October 28th, the rhetoric of Benjamin Netanyahu reached a new low. On that day, in a televised press conference, he spoke at a podium in front of Israeli flags and openly called for genocide.
To make matters worse, he used the Bible to justify it, saying:
"You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible.” […]
"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass"
Please take a minute to watch the video. It really does represent a new low in Israeli propaganda. Not only does Netanyahu cite the Bible to call for genocide, but the clip concludes with the Israeli PM saying:
“We’ve always said Never Again. Never Again is Now.”
Wow. And here I thought that “Never Again” meant that we weren’t supposed to commit atrocities against dehumanized enemies. Turns out that Zionists have a different interpretation. Apparently “Never Again” means exterminating their enemies.
We have now reached the point where Israel apologists must now resort not to obfuscation, minimization, or standard-issue deceit, but the complete inversion of the truth.
As Chris Hedges writes in the aforementioned piece:
Israel’s bombing campaign, one of the heaviest of the 21st century, has killed more than 7,300 Palestinians, nearly half of them children, along with 26 journalists, medical workers, teachers and United Nations staff. Some 1.4 million Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced and an estimated 600,000 are homeless.
Mosques, 120 health facilities, ambulances, schools, apartment blocks, supermarkets, water and sewage treatment plants and power plants have been blasted into rubble.
Hospitals and clinics, lacking fuel, medicine and electricity, have been bombed or are shutting down.
Clean water is running out. Gaza, by the end of Israel’s scorched earth campaign, will be uninhabitable, a tactic the Nazis regularly employed when facing armed resistance, including in the Warsaw Ghetto and later Warsaw itself.
By the time Israel is done, Gaza, or at least Gaza as we knew it, will not exist.
Not only are the tactics the same, but so is the rhetoric. Palestinians are referred to as animals, beasts and Nazis.
They have no right to exist.
Their children have no right to exist.
They must be cleansed from the earth.
Why do the Zionists want a Race War?
Great. So the Zionists want a race war. How is a person supposed to be for peace when both sides basically want to wipe each other off the face of the Earth?
This whole situation presents quite a dilemma.
As an anti-racist, I obviously don’t want to take sides in a race war. Racism is poison. It allows people to dehumanize their enemies and to justify all manner of atrocities against them. I genuinely believe that people are people, no matter their race. Some people are good, some are bad, and most are pretty okay.
Race doesn’t have all that much to do with morality, which ultimately boils down to decisions made by individuals. Racism tends to erase individuality, thereby decreasing the capacity of human beings to recognize and respect moral reasoning.
That said, most people in every society are followers. Culture and race do tend to go together, and culture does program people to accept certain things as normal, acceptable, or good.
Most people will mostly go along with the dominant social relations which prevail in their society at any given time. If they live in a slave society, they will be for slavery. If they live in a communist society, they will be for communism. And if they live in an apartheid state, they will be for apartheid.
All this makes it very hard to be an anti-racist in the case of Jewish fascists, many of whom seem determined to believe that it is due to no fault of their own that much of the world’s population views them as some of the worst criminals on the planet.
Do I think that Israelis are some of the most racist people on Earth? Yes. Do I think that all Israelis deserve to be held responsible for the crimes of their government? No.
On the other hand, I instinctively want to side with the oppressed against the oppressor. If you can’t see that Jews have been oppressing Palestinians for many decades, it’s because you don’t want to see it.
I also know that the Powers That Shouldn’t Be love to use race to divide people. By choosing to use the platform I have to decry Israel’s crimes, am I playing into the hands of those who wish to govern by dividing people along racial and religious lines?
Perhaps I am. But my spirit cries out against this injustice. Israel is engaged in a brutal campaign of state terrorism against a captive population it appears to want to exterminate.
How can any decent person not deplore such barbarity?
Zionist think tank publishes blueprint for Palestinian genocide
On October 24th, The Gray Zone published an article entitled Zionist think tank publishes blueprint for Palestinian genocide, in which Kit Klarenburg writes:
As Israel’s carpet bombing of Gaza entered its third week, leaving over 5000 dead and at least one million residents displaced, a Tel Aviv-based think tank published a blueprint for self-proclaimed Jewish state’s final solution.
In a white paper released over a week after the Hamas-led surprise attack on Israeli military bases and kibbutzes, The Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy outlined “a plan for resettlement and final rehabilitation in Egypt of the entire population of Gaza,” based on the “unique and rare opportunity to evacuate the entire Gaza Strip” that Israel’s latest assault on the besieged costal enclave provided.
Published in Hebrew on the organization’s website, the paper was authored by Amir Weitman, “an investment manager and visiting researcher” at the Institute who also leads the libertarian caucus of Israel’s ruling Likud Party.
This leads to an important point - the ruling coalition government of Israel is chalk full of fucking psychos, quite a few of whom are willing to openly advocate for genocide and ethnic cleansing.
It would be easier to dismiss Jewish fascism as a lunatic fringe were it not for the fact that a significant number of bona fide Jewish fascists are currently IN POWER in Israel.
To understand how things got to the point, we would do well to zoom out a bit.
On December 11th, 2022, Chris Hedges published a piece called Israel and the Rise of Jewish Fascism, in which he wrote:
Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposed coalition government of Jewish extremists, fanatic Zionists and religious bigots represents a seismic change in Israel, one that will exacerbate Israel’s pariah status, erode external support for Israel, fuel a third Palestinian uprising, or intifada, and create irreconcilable political divides within the Jewish state.
Alon Pinkas, writing in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, calls the coalition government, scheduled to take power in one or two weeks, “a kakistocracy extraordinaire: government by the worst and least suitable collection of ultranationalists, Jewish supremacists, anti-democrats, racists, bigots, homophobes, misogynists, corrupt and allegedly corrupt politicians. A ruling coalition of 64 lawmakers, of whom 32 are either ultra-Orthodox or religious Zionist. […]
Itamar Ben-Gvir, from the ultra-nationalist Otzma Yehudit, “Jewish Power,” party, will be the new minister for internal security. Otzma Yehudit is populated with members of Rabbi Meir Kahane’s Kach party, which was banned from running for the Knesset in 1988 for espousing a “Nazi-like ideology” that included advocating the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinian citizens of Israel as well as all Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation.
His appointment, along with that of other far-right ideologues, including Bezalel Smotrich, to be in charge of the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), effectively jettisons the old tropes liberal Zionists used to defend Israel – that it is the only democracy in the Middle East, that it seeks a peaceful settlement with the Palestinians in a two-state solution, that extremism and racism have no place in Israeli society and that Israel must impose draconian forms of control on the Palestinians to prevent terrorism.
Ben-Gvir and Smotrich represent the dregs of Israeli society, one that promotes “Jewish identity” and “Jewish nationalism” in a Zionist version of fascism’s call for blood and soil. […]
Their Religious Zionist bloc is now the third largest in the Knesset.
This is roughly equivalent to the KKK holding a third of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. Perhaps it’s even worse.
Remember that time the KKK bombed a hospital?
Neither do I.
Remember, this was written in December of last year, which shows how astute of an observer Hedges is.
He continues:
Netanyahu, who is charged with fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in three corruption cases, is determined to politicize the judiciary. He and his coalition partners will further curtail the rights of Palestinian citizens of Israel who are already second-class citizens.
They will continue to push aggressively for a war with Iran.
They will support efforts to seize the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, which Jewish Israelis call the Temple Mount, the supposed site of the Second Temple, destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. Jewish extremists have long called for the Al-Aqsa mosque, the third holiest shrine for Muslims, to be torn down and replaced by a “Third” Jewish temple, a move that would set the Muslim world alight.
Ben-Gvir, who considers Baruch Goldstein, the Jewish settler who in 1994 massacred 29 Muslim worshipers in Hebron, “a hero,” has announced an imminent visit along with other Jewish extremists to the site of the mosque.
When Ariel Sharon, then Israel’s opposition leader, went to the mosque site in September 2000, it ignited the Second Intifada.
It’s really tough to wrap your mind around how insane and evil people like Ben-Givr and Smotrich are.
They seem quite willing to provoke a global war because of their fanatical belief that they are God’s chosen people and that they therefore deserve to exterminate their enemies. Given that it’s hard for me to conceive of how exactly this will actually benefit the Jewish people, I have to conclude that they are primarily motivated by hatred.
Honestly, I hesitate to go into detail about how despicable these people are, because the truth is so hideous that it reflects poorly on Israeli society as a whole.
Ben-Gvir in particular seems determined to provoke a race war, and he is certainly not without his supporters.
He and people like him openly admire the Jewish terrorist Baruch Goldstein, who murdered 29 Muslim worshippers in 1994.
To get a bit of a glimpse into the minds of Zionist extremists, I recommend watching this 10-minute documentary.
So there you have it, folks. Israel’s ruling party includes some of the most extreme racists on the face on the planet.
What's an anti-racist to do in this situation? If anything, the current situation confirms my belief that racism is one of the main evils that human beings are prone to.
Yet the Zionists love to accuse their enemies of racism as a way of delegitimizing criticism of Israel’s crimes against humanity.
Recently, in an especially disgustingly self-serving example of this, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, and his delegation donned yellow Stars of David at a Security Council session to make a statement.
The ambassador then went to compare the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel to the Holocaust, saying:
“When Jewish babies were burned in Auschwitz, the world was silent, and today Jewish babies were burned in Be’eri and the towns of the South by the Nazi Hamas – and the world is silent again. I will make you remember the shame of your silence every time you look at me.”
“I will wear the yellow patch until the Nazi Hamas is eliminated and until the Security Council stops being silent and condemns the October 7 massacre. Some of you have learned nothing in the last eighty years!
Some of you have forgotten why the United Nations was founded. So I will remind you.
From today on, every time you look at me you will remember. When my grandfather and his children were sent to Auschwitz, the world was silent. When his wife and their seven children were sent to the gas chambers, the world was silent. When their bodies were burned alongside millions of other Jewish children, the world was silent.”
Shame, huh? This guy wants us to feel ashamed? How interesting.
Weirdly, I don’t feel ashamed. Do you?
No? Huh. I wonder why.
Do you think that it could be that this is coming from a member of the government which is currently slaughtering women and children by the thousands?
Do you think that it could be because he’s invoking the memory of crimes against humanity in order to justify crimes against humanity?
Do you think it’s because the Zionists have lost all semblance of a moral high ground?
Do you think it’s because playing the Holocaust card no longer has the effect that it used to?
THE HOLOCAUST CARD HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED, AND NO LONGER HAS THE POWER IT ONCE DID.
I’m pretty sure that this marks the official end of Holocaust sympathy as a justification for Israeli assaults against their enemies. The Zionists have simply overplayed that card. It’s become a joke.
Don’t believe me? Check out this bit by the stand-up comic Doug Stanhope:
By the way, did you know that comics are allowed to make fun of Jews now?
Look, Dave Chappelle does it too:
HAS ISRAEL PERMANENTLY LOST THE ARGUMENT?
Let’s face it: Israeli apartheid is predicated upon racism. Zionists are in no position to lecture anyone about racism. The fact that playing the Holocaust card is the best their propagandists can come with is really quite telling.
The slaughter of Palestinian women and children is tolerable to many Israelis, and to their sympathizers in the West, because Palestinian lives have been devalued by years of propaganda portraying Muslims as bloodthirsty terrorist barbarians who deserve to die because it is simply impossible to compromise with religious fanatics.
Well, guess what? Most people aren’t buying that anymore.
I agree with Caitlin Johnstone that Israel Has Permanently Lost The Argument.
Israel apologists are the worst. The absolute worst. I’ve sparred with countless political factions over the years, and I’ve never encountered a group so profoundly morally bankrupt and psychologically malformed. They’re so awful that their apologia actually hurts Israel’s image. Nothing will reassure you of the moral correctness of your opposition to Israel faster than interacting with Israel apologists online.
It keeps surprising me that Israel apologists still expect to be taken seriously. Israel is massacring children by the thousands and turning Gaza into rubble and they still expect you to listen to them receptively when they defend its actions. It’s actually starting to get morbidly fascinating.
In the old days murderous thugs just grabbed whatever land they wanted and killed anyone who tried to stop them. That still happens today too, but now the thugs have to make up liberal-sounding, sympathy-pulling justifications for it, like “spreading freedom and democracy” or “Israel has a right to defend itself.”
Israel has lost the argument. Permanently. There’s no coming back from this.
As she put it in another piece called There’s Only So Much Propaganda Spin You Can Put On The Murder Of Thousands of Children:
They can talk about the killings on October 7 til they’re blue in the face, but people are going to object that nothing Hamas did makes it moral or acceptable to murder children by the thousands.
They can say “Israel has a right to defend itself” as much as they want, but people are going to object that murdering children by the thousands is not actually defending anything from anyone.
They can bleat the phrase “human shields” over and over again, but eventually people are going to start saying “Okay but even if they are human shields, could we please stop murdering children by the thousands? I know I wouldn’t want my children to be murdered just because they were being used as human shields.”
They can say every death is the fault of Hamas, but more and more people are going to start saying “Okay blame whoever you want, but can we please stop murdering children by the thousands right this very instant?”
They can say “Well what do you expect Israel to do?”, and people will respond “Stop murdering children by the thousands for starters, please and thank you.”
Imagine you’re a mass media propagandist trying to frame all this in a positive light. How would you do it? Would you be able to make it believable?
HOW LONG CAN ZIONISTS KEEP PLAYING THE VICTIM?
Apparently, the Zionists are falling back on their old trick of deflecting accusations of racism by playing the victim.
For 70 years, they’ve been acting like the fact Jews were victims in racism in Europe means that they need to be given some kind of special status, which apparently grants them all kinds of special rights.
SHOULD THE TRUTH MOVEMENT TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ZIONISM?
What is happening in the Holy Land is very clearly a regression into barbarism.
Some people, who were all for telling the truth about Big Pharma during the COVID scam, believe that it would be irresponsible to tell the truth about Zionism in the face of the current political climate.
If I understand their logic correctly, they believe that telling the the truth will likely lead to a rise in anti-semitism, or at least in anti-Zionism.
My position is this - you’re either for the truth or you’re not. Now is not the time to shy away from the truth. It is true that the truth doesn’t reflect well on the state of Israel, but that’s because many of the actions of the Israeli state are indefensible. To selectively censor oneself to spare the feelings of Israeli apologists is not a morally defensible stance.
DENOUNCING ZIONISM DOES NOT MEAN DENOUNCING JUDAISM
So far as I am concerned, the answer lies in the fact that Zionism and Judaism are two separate things. For the good of the Jewish people and the world, the two must now be disentangled.
Whatever its historical origins, Zionism in 2023 is a blatantly racist, fascist ideology, and must be opposed by all anti-racists if they are to remain congruent with their principles.
That said, far be from me to deny that anti-semitism is on the rise. To all the Jews who are alarmed about the rise of anti-semitism, I get it. But what do you expect? What goes around comes around.
Those of you who are genuinely concerned with the welfare of the Jewish people should do everything that you can to make your opposition to Netanyahu’s regime known.
Netanyahu’s regime is seen as racist, fascist and genocidal BECAUSE IT IS racist, fascist, and genocidal. If you even passively support it, you are complicit to some degree.
Yes, I know that many Jews have long been deplored Israeli apartheid, and I hope that nothing that I’ve said here comes off as painting all Jews with the same brush. I definitely don’t hold all Jews responsible for the crimes of the Israeli state, and I hope I’ve made that clear. I’m well aware that I’m navigating a minefield here.
If you are Jewish, now’s the time to double down on your opposition to the Israeli regime’s crimes against humanity.
As for all of those of you who consider yourselves anti-racist, I believe it is important to hold Israel accountable for its racism, which is a key tool in its arsenal against the Palestinians.
I will end by quoting a speech by Mike Prysner, an American anti-war activist who served as a soldier in Iraq before joining Veterans for Peace.
His speech is about the importance of racism as a weapon of war. He is referring to the anti-Muslim racism of U.S. soldiers in Iraq, but I think that it applies to Israelis as well.
I first heard this speech on Lowkey’s classic album Soundtrack to the Struggle.
Since the emotion in Prysner’s voice adds to his message, I recommend listening to the audio version, which you can find here:
Here's a bit of history rarely discussed, but sadly resulted in the slaughter of more than a million:
"The “mother” organization behind Hamas, is namely the Muslim Brotherhood. After World War II the CIA began secretly working with this highly-effective organization, initially using them against Soviet Communist states during the Cold War. By the 1980s the Brotherhood was used in Afghanistan to train the local Mujahideen. The man in charge of that CIA Operation Cyclone during the entirety of the 1980s was a Saudi named Osama bin Laden. This is well documented in F. William Engdahl's book. Fast forward to October 2023 and the alleged role of Hamas or the Palestine Muslim Brotherhood and it begins to become clear that all is perhaps not what it seems in the Middle East."
Let us start with prejudice. It has many varied forms, racism being one. If we take a look at how we justify most of our self-serving decisions prejudice will very often be involved. If you go watch Ken Burns new special on “The Buffalo” you will readily see a vast extermination of a culture, that existed for thousands of years in a subsistence base, in a very short time. I know we humans are capable of altruistic behavior. But it is not the norm as all types of genocide are continually repeated. Where do we find the wisdom? Where and when will the wisdom discerned from these repeated acts be enacted and embraced by the majority?
