Was just in Toronto for a month and in the past one could watch YouTube there on Bell via an app that was included with the basic internet/tv package. Now you have to pay extra to Bell for that app in order to access YouTube... they’re deliberately trying to make it harder for people to watch YouTube in Canada on TVs.

SMH.

That's a shame. But that's a look into the future -- the subscription-model for being informed. Information, as we know it, is looking less and less free.

Yep, personalized, pay-to-read luxury media is the new wealth flex.

And you tube is total censorship industrial complex. So at least you are spared that. But there is also some good how to videos on there, which come in handy.

Welcome, comrade, to the newspeak future, circa 1984. Canada is progressing nicely. It's gonna be kinda funny when they try to make that official policy here. Good luck, my northern friends.

Are you in the U.S.? If so, there at least still seems to be a strong support for fundamental freedoms there. Canada's always had conditional freedoms. But Canadians are also at fault too for downplaying the importance of civil liberties.

Yes. But I used to be a northerner, and was married twice to Canadian women. What y'all have had yo give up over the years for a little socialism should be rather obvious. Such an amazing, huge country f immense riches, and y'all don't have enough people stand against Castro jr. Having been living in Florida for a long time now, I can honestly say you will never see antifags or burn loot and murder get away with anything here. And the atf are afraid of us. As they should be.

I think this goes far beyond left vs. right, socialism vs. capitalism, etc. We can thank 'socialism' for the 8-hour work day and free healthcare (well, before the health care system went into shambles..).

But I agree with you -- not enough Canadians are paying attention that's for sure.

You say not enough Canadians are paying attention. Imagine being in a country of 330 million, and 50% are imbeciles, and 30% more couldn't care less about what's going on in the nations Capitol, leaving twenty percent of us to keep this place free. And half of that 20% are progressretards.

Touché. We've got 40 million compared to your 330.
