I have a question or two for you. You said a couple of times on the Autopsy post that you would still like to be organising large social movements. Is this the goal in your mind? If so, how does the practice described in the (very reasonable, to my mind) post in the comments above from Artist as Family relate to such a movement? If it does.

This is the big, big question and I will certainly address it in future posts. Personally, I'm pretty much a secessionist/bioregionalist and my preferred strategy is focusing on creating autonomous/semi-autonomous zones... which are likely to be more rural in character. But most people live in cities and mass movement are basically necessary to improve urban life. I don't have all the answers, but I'm exploring ideas. I'm not laying out a plan at this point. My goal is to pass along what I've learned in my lifetime of activism.

Yeah, cities. There was a very grumpy prepper type who used to kick around this group (I think, memory's a bit fuzzy) who spat venom at me for expressing concern about people in the cities. Nevertheless, it seems like a pretty grim outlook to me. I won't press you on details now, then. I look forward to reading what's to come.

As someone who was there in Portland I think the major flaw was too much attention was paid to what the problems are (which is plenty) That and the introduction of identity politics which was a brilliant move on the behalf of the parasitic class. There wasn't that much focus on small practical things people can do to gain independence from these dinosaur institutions. This involves the building of local communities which could have happened. There was also the opportunity to reach out to tea party people who where pretty much protesting the same thing. Again though identity politics kept everyone siloed.

Ding, ding, ding - that will be one of my conclusions - that Occupy people SHOULD have joined forces with Tea Party people... and that Trump/Sanders/Antifa/Alt-Right/Proud Boys Psy Op was about pitting left against right and right against left... and we (mostly the left/post-left) need to acknowledge, move on, apologize, and learn from the errors of our ways. Then get back to fighting the banks with whoever wants to fight the banks.

It's justified according to Thomas Jefferson and associates, but government will destroy you according to these and other laws; Posse Comitatus Act/Insurrection Act, National Defense Authorization Act, Patriot Act, CIA act, National Security Act, National Security Agency Act, etc., etc. ...

But you don't have to because you have this;

Yes, we're almost at the violent revolution point... like, we could be months or weeks away. But there's still a bit of time to build unity between different segments of society.

The Antifa people need to realize that there's a real possibility of a race war breaking out in America. Do you think that would go well for black people? We shouldn't be glorifying violence at this point. The stakes are very high.

I dunno 'bout that soon, but we're heading in that direction. I wonder what it would take to trigger the people to rise up in mass and start going militant on authority figures.

If that actually happened? ...No. But ...

I don't think black folks are so much mad at white people, but rather authority figures. The gripe about racism is institutional racism, things like underfunded schools and over-policing of black communities. We live in an integrated society and a lot of the people aren't buying the divide/conquer BS anymore.

Oh, let me clarify: I mean that the Powers That Shouldn't Be might try to START a race war.

That's one Conspiracy Theory of the Woke Era - that it's actually to START a race war. Problem-Reaction-Solution. Right now the reaction to wokeness is, thankfully, "Make Fun of Woke Idiots"... but couldn't it also turn violent? it's a lot easier to hate someone that hates you... and speaking as a white man, I've definitely felt hated and mistreated in recent years.

But honestly, much more by women than by "People of Colour". Something about me really gets feminists crazy.

I wonder what it is...

Thanks for sharing people's posts. My prayer is that there will be more people learning how to run general assemblies have consensus votes, and find ways to get to know people a bit more personally in these movements. When we get to know people a bit more intimately, we care more about them. That was hard to do at Occupy Oakland but I sought to take time and invite people over to eat/commune when not sleeping on the plaza and after we got kicked out. Relationships are impt.
