This IS Chiapas...San Cristobal has been like this for a long time now...Mafia/Cartels with the Chamulans are running the place in collusion with policia. The police hide or are ordered to hide when any major rise ups happen. All local business doors shut...its usually OXXO they always attack :-)

Be careful not to let them including police know you are a journalist...you know why...Suerte

I wish! My girlfriend is Chamula and youre not likely to hear me say anything bad about the Chamulas. Its the Jalisco cartel moving in thats the problem if you ask me.

btw... not to sound too much like a crazy conspiracy theorist... but have you heard the theory that the drug war is turning into a proxy war between the U.S. and China, with China backing the CJNG? I have no idea if its true or not but I would refer people to the work of Ed Calderon if theyre interested in exploring this theory. He went on the Geopolitics and Empire podcast and sounded pretty convincing... But who knows?

I don't mean that all Chamulans are bad, I didnt mean any offence, they are a very strong people who stand up for their rights, being one of the only people who the conqistadores could not defeat. The San Juan Chamula Cartel are part of the problem, along with CJNG and MS-13, Barrio 18 gangs. Sinaloa on the coast, This is an interesting description - https://www.24-horas.mx/2021/11/24/tsotsiles-de-tropa-a-lideres-en-narcomenudeo-robo

And this more recent - https://www.rompeviento.tv/el-cartel-san-juan-chamula-y-la-tormenta-que-viene

I listened to Ed Calderon talk, CIA for sure and China makes sense...where the big money is looking to make even more money! And now for Lithium as well as the drugs. Its all fucked up! All for money...and power!

That's what is wrong with this world...and they've been planning this for centuries.

There is only a theory because there IS a conspiracy. ;-)

Dont worry, I didnt take offence! The Chamulas are proud of being badasses and Im proud my girlfriend comes from some of the few unconquered indigenous nations in this hemisphere.

The China-Jalisco cartel connection makes sense geographically.... One of the biggest ports for China in Lazaro Cardenas in Michoacan, which Im told is firmly in the control of the CJNG...

From the Wikipedia page for Lazaro Cardenas:

Lázaro Cárdenas is home to a deepwater seaport that handles container, dry bulk, and liquid cargo. The port also exports automobiles from various Mexican assembly plants to markets in southeast Asia and South America.[2] The port handled 1.24 million TEU in 2012 and is expanding to a capacity of 2.2 million TEU annually. Cargo moves to and from the port by road and rail equally, with rail service provided exclusively by Kansas City Southern de México. The port is expected to become a major container facility due to congestion at the U.S. ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and its relative proximity to major cities such as Chicago, Kansas City, and Houston. In preparation for the port's increased capacity, railway and highway infrastructure running north–south through the center of Mexico has been upgraded to handle the anticipated increase in volume of goods bound for the United States using this transportation corridor.

Hah! Synchronicity...

This vid might be of benefit to you. Max Igan reporting from Mexico.

He has a lot of info on Mexico in the last part of the vid, but the whole thing is well worth the watch. Sound is glitching only on that intro part.

Gd luck!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I actually met Max Igan in Acapulco last year, he definitely made an impression on me! I haven´t delved into his work really, but he definitely has some compelling ideas. I´m not sure that I consider him an entirely trustworthy source of information, if I´m to be entirely honest, but he certainly brings something interesting to the table.

Always curious as to what others think! Please feel free to comment one way or the other...

Shit that sucks!

Some good news... In the latest Whitney Webb ama, someone 😂 asked her about Matt Ehret and mentioned your article about the pipeline native issue.

She didn't have time to read the article but said that he's good on the British history, Rhodes etc.

She said that she disagreed with him about quite a few things, but there's still value to some of his stuff.

I agree, but I wonder if she knows that he's most likely set up to push bullshit.

Perhaps he is a true believer that's fooled...

But even the Russian university thing is odd... It's not like he teaches a course there, so WTF?

I agree that there is value to some of his stuff... would you mind posting a link to the AMA please?

He does appear to be a true believer in something.... I guess I would have to educate myself about LaRouche if I wanted to go further. But I think Ive gone far enough (or too far). Ill let the internet figure it out. Ive raised the alarm as loudly and forcefully as I know how to... And people will have to decide for themselves whether or not they want to trust him or not.

Idk, the only reason for them to attack a boxing club private party in such a way is because of all you guys having fun without any criminal activity. If gangs are running a certain territory than they want a percentage on having fun. Be it extortion or selling drugs or prostitution. In any case, be on the lookout cause it seems Tierra Roja is being targeted. In this case you are stronger if you have mates who are on the lookout as well.

And its not surprising that mexican police is useless, or worse, on the payroll of the gangs.

Idk which region of Mexico it was, but awhile ago I saw a doc which showed that there are citizen militias patrolling the communities 24/7, precisely because police is 100% useless....

"Maybe the cops were just being cowards."

I used to live in Chicago back in the day. I don't know how many times I saw squad cars turn on their sirens and blue lights as if to warn the criminals that they had a minute or two to get out'a Dodge. Yes, cowards.
