👏👏👏🎩🎩🎩Bravo best piece yet! And Bravo on recognising a great thinker. He's more appreciated than you know, but keep talking about him, and other greats like Alan Watts, so the younger generations can also discover their reality of be-ing pure light🤗

Just to echo, I also was going to comment that this is your best piece yet! Just reading an interesting book called Tantric Psychophysics and the RAW video sums it up in 7 minutes. Your closing is particularly juicy:

"I know that Shakespeare said that all the world’s a stage, but I beg to differ. The way I see it, all the world’s a story.

"Most of you won’t believe me when I say this, but reality is fictional. It’s a story that we tell ourselves about ourselves and the world around us. In a sense, reality is a spell that we are constantly casting.

"Once you understand this, you understand that reality can be anything that you want it to be, and it’s your responsibility to make your life awesome.

"If you can dream it, you can do it, because the dream is the doing and the doing is the dream. We are continually co-creating our reality together, and if we knew who and what we truly are, we could consciously dream a new world into being. Thus the psychedelic experience leads one to ask themselves an all-important question - “What reality do I want to create”?"

I'm glad you liked it! Alan Watts had a massive influence on my life. I read his book on Zen at a crucial moment in my life and took up Zen meditation. I was in my early twenties and had just quit drinking and drugging. I was very hardcore about it for several months, and it was a turning point in my life. Ultimately, I decided that I believe in God, and that I prefer theism to the Buddhist worldview.

Now, this could just be because I was raised Christian. I think that religions are like languages, in a sense. If you were raised speaking one language, it's going to make sense to you.

Now, obviously, Buddhism is more logical, but logic is only important to the left hemisphere of the brain.

The right hemisphere needs symbols, archetypes, and personalities. Various Buddhist traditions incorporate such elements, which some purists see as debased, because they aren't based on the teachings of Gautama Buddha, but I think that there's a reason for these later developments.

And thank you very much for the compliment, but there's no way that this is my best piece. You are making me ask myself what I would consider my best work, though!

"Why Science is Bullshit, and why Teenagers should take Acid."

I'm going to take that as irony, but just in case there's some teenagers out there that think it's a good idea, I suggest they not go there. The first and obvious reason is you don't know what you're getting, neither the purity nor the dosage. To illustrate what could go wrong, watch this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRVqFBDh7jo

It can happen with LSD. I've seen it. Not the same physical extreme, but a full blown psychotic episode for sure. Not a pleasant sight. The good news is there's better ways to achieve the same result. Start by looking around your lawn in late autumn for example.

I started reading Prometheus Rising this evening, first RAW book I've read since Illuminati, although I'm very familiar with the Illuminati period. I think RAW tried to distance himself from some of the effects of that book, if I recall correctly. It didn't help my friend's brother, who was already schizophrenic. Just gave him more stuff to obsess about. I think KLF had some related bad fan experiences along the same lines. Some people took that stuff way too seriously.

I think that book marked a turning point - a schism perhaps - between those in search of "The Truth(c)" and those less ambitious of us who were just trying to understand the world we live in. I always felt RAW was in that later group, but a lot of his fans were somewhere else. I was probably one of them at the time, but I do have an excuse of sorts. I saw the "Counter-Culture" from the bottom up, whereas RAW was pretty near the top, especially during the Playboy years. The people around him were no doubt a lot more centered and just plain sane than where I was. Point is, there's a tendency to romanticize that era - what McLuhan would call a 'nostalgic retrieval.' I don't think RAW promoted that, but just writing about it can have that effect, since they were fairly interesting times, even at the lower echelons I moved in, once you discount the risks. All this goes to say, that a cult following can be good or bad, but in RAW's case I think it hurt him, at least in terms of his academic stature.

Speaking of which, and this may be slightly controversial, I don't think RAW's major contribution was his original thoughts. Those were important of course, but his main impact was as a transmitter of knowledge. That's not to diminish him in any way. By translating what he'd learned in a lifetime of study into simple terms we can all understand, he opened a lot of doors for a whole lot of people. That to me is his major contribution.

OK, I'm half way through Prometheus Rising and I've finally hit something I disagree with. Not bad. That usually happens in the first few pages with most books. I'll wrap this up, finish the book, and follow up later if I have something coherent to say:)

good on you - I have been applauding where you are going with your ephiphany of the world story.

the story that dominates the world narrative does not serve me nor many beings on the planet although I must acknowledge I am a recipient of many benefits of this set up. however it has been my journey to inquire into the story and play with reality and have learned that the story we tell ourselves that arises out of ancestral cultural and societal conditioning can be challenged and we can move into another paradigm by changing our story. My message when I was writing my blog sadly expired from that now is that if we en masse evolve a higher purpose story than war we can merge and Become it - that consciousness forms our reality ( simple terms here) and we can choose . I acknowledge that for many threatened by bombs abuse starvation slavery etc choosing a story may be out of their reach which is why it is of even more importance for those of us that can to do so and hold the space for all to shift into .

Yep...after introducing "The Pill" contraceptive in 1960...replacing 8,000 years of the foundations of society...and the glue of nature. Then the purchase of all of Sandoz's LSD stock to pursue the creation of Manchurian candidates...through the CIA's MKULTRA program...sprinkling it in village water supplies in France, psychiatric hospital patients, penal and academic institutions, designing systems to aerosol spray it over SF. Instant...drive-thru enlightenment pharmaceuticals were introduced. Better living through chemistry. Replacement theory..."move fast and break things"..."reimagine"..."build back better"..."smash and grab"....all distortions of belief systems foisted as moving towards utopia. I am 70..."expanded" my mind hundreds of times...practiced and taught meditation for 52 years. Please read up on the eugenists that birthed the Huxleys, Watts, beliefs and the funders of this great deception. The first thing to clear up in deep meditation is the distortions of artificial/drug induced thinking/reasoning. How do the regime change warriors and psyops intel agencies provide/pay for their "black budgets"...how are the "black operations" funded. Trafficking of arms...drugs and humans is hundreds of years old...money laundering might be a clue....bravo if you answered banking. We participate with every inhalation and swallowing...injection...of psychoactive...mind distortion...in funding the actual slavers and beneficiaries of our delusions. Weaponizing nature...climate crisis...covid biowarfare health...globalization of the extraction of our individual sovereignty. These are not progressives, liberals, conservatives, MAGAs, Communists, Fascists, Racists...they only care that we continue to be swept up in delusion, illusion and error...the wars in the Mahabharata...the Bhagavad Gita...are only metaphors for our own inner wars...fight the stupids!

"When we begin to understand how CIA/intelligence disinformation works, how counterintelligence works, we begin to see that all along our questions were incorrect:

If they get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers.[9]

~ Thomas Pynchon

By close study of the documents and history of MKULTRA and the counterculture we realize that (nearly) all of the early psychedelic stars were agents (or assets), and then we see a whole new picture come into focus: CIA agents don’t always wear black, but they often wear tie-dye (or professors’ khaki pants) – talk about plausible deniability. The question was not who was a CIA agent… But rather, who wasn’t?"

crow...i enjoy your work immensely, and think that you are opening up really important conversations. this psychedelic strain is a serious blind spot though. for me the portal opened after reading dave mcgowans 'weird scenes inside the canyon'. details the heavy influence of alphabet agencies and military in creation of psychedelic 60s. Leary literally worked for the CIA! so did Wasson. huxley and his brother julian are two of the prime architects of UN Agenda 2030. deep ties to mk ultra all over the place. and it goes a lot deeper than all that. unfortunately mcgowan died in 2015 but his work has been continued by many i think most notably jan irvin: 5 part paper here;

RAW's book "The Starseed Signals" (which is about Leary) is an excellent read, and follows some of these ideas. "Coincidance" is another good one.

Excellent piece.
